Oh Cowboy, Where Art Thou?

We pulled up to our Nashville Hostel around 8pm Friday night. After a quick rinse and outfit change, we hit the streets. We started the evening at a little pub next door, played a little pool and made some new friends. We decided to take them with us on our adventure on Broadway St.
First stop was a white trash themed bar, were we wrote our vacation motto on the table, and posed in funky cars.

Next stop was a three story, three band bar called Honky Tonk. We danced our way up the three stories and listened to some great covers.

We continued our walk down the street, ending at Roberts.
Jess, as usual, made some fun new friends on the street as we left. A band from Ohio!
We decided it would not be a successful evening if we did not jump in the famous guitar shaped pool!
The only disappointment was the lack of cowboys in Nashville.

The next morning, we decided to beat our exhaustion with a little exercise. We started the day renting bikes and riding around the city.
We pulled into the Country Music Hall of Fame, walked to the ticket counter and decided we were too cheap to go in. Though we did snap this photo to pretend that we did.

In the attempt to find a clothing store, we found this pretty park.
Due to the fact that there are no clothing stores downtown, and we both have been wearing the same dresses for 2 weeks, we headed to the mall. After purchasing some cheap clothes, we decided to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. It was a first for Jess.
Jess decided to class up the joint by smashing whipped cream in Jensen's face.
After a long nap, we headed to Midtown, a more local part of town. Within 20 minutes we met the most hilarious person we have ever met. When we asked of we could sit next to him, he told us he had "us covered like a quilt". He was a native Tennesseean, with quite an accent. He and Jess could not understand each other, so Jensen had to translate. He was accompanied by another gentlemen who when informed that Jess was a Kiwi, got very excited and said "holy shit!! Do you hike!?!"
A bar fight and some fantastic live music later, we headed to Broadway for a night cap. We took a taxi back in the best Cab of all time!
Jensen met her first Nashville Cowboy, and Jess had the best hot dog of her life.
We capped of the night with a little hostel pool and nice conversation.

The next morning, or shall I say afternoon, we arose from our room. We walked down union street and had a delicious meal accompanied with some coffee.

Our street friends from Friday night had a friend playing at the famous Tootsies, so we went for some awesome Sunday afternoon music.
We are now headed to Bluebird cafe to listen to some local musicians!
