The Canyons vs. The Plains... From Wahoo to Waah

Lets just start by saying that a 5 hour drive after an all-nighter in Vegas is a little rough. Luckily there are two of us, allowing us to take turns driving.
Welcome to Arizona!

A little after 2 we arrived in Flagstaff, Arizona. Checked into our awesome hostel and got some Thai food. Then we jumped back in the car for the 1.5 hour drive to the Grand Canyon.

We saw some Elk...

The canyon was lookin' pretty grand.

It was extremely windy.
We watched the sunset on this cool ledge.
It looked like this:

A little exhaustion and mild headaches forced us to take some animal photos.
We then headed back to Flagstaff...with this view:
Early the next morning we started our long trek to Carlsbad, New Mexico. We stopped in Geronimo to get some Indian Jewelry.
We were very excited when we arrived at the border of New Mexico.
We stopped in Albuquerque for lunch where the only exciting things were a sandwich and a blue tree.
We then headed down highway 285 south for about 300 miles...
This is the most exciting thing we saw, well pretty much the only thing we saw.

Yay! A town! Better yet Roswell!
Roswell has aliens...
That was about it... Roswell is pretty boring.
And back on the road...

Tune in tomorrow for the Carlsbad Caverns.
