They informed us that the only safe place we could go for a drink was a bowling alley called Shade. Unable to find "Shade" or a room we decided to bail on New Mexico, grab a coffee at Denny's and continue driving to Texas.
An hour later we arrived at the Texas border, just past Loving, New Mexico (a very misleading name). At which point we took a few minutes to lay on the hood of the car to look at the beautiful stars.
Six hours later, 5AM Texas time, we arrived in Spring Branch, Texas. With it being 5 o'clock in the morning, we decided it was too early to knock on Helen and Eddies door. Instead we parked outside their gate and feel asleep in the car.
Two hours later Eddie and Luke drive out and see two homeless bums sleeping in their driveway.
A shower, glass of water, and a long nap in a proper bed had us feeling human again.
We ended up at the Antler Cafe and feasted on "Chicken Fried Steak", a first for us both.
After a massive food coma and a rest on the couch, we headed with the Shaws to San Antonio for a river cruz and dinner. What a beautiful city!

You two are always smiling! So cute!
ReplyDeleteJess you totally look like a Texas girl with the pigtails and hat!!! Have you met any real cowboys?
ReplyDeleteCutest homeless bums I've ever found asleep in my driveway!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you didn't like New Mexico.. then we got to play longer! :)
